On Sunday afternoon, German All Stars 3 (GAS III) faced Bukit Timah AS in a thrilling, hard-fought match that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the final whistle. The game was played at the German European School Singapore under hot conditions, requiring a water break 23 minutes into each half.
Bukit Timah AS started strong, dominating the early stages. By the first water break, they had already taken a 0:3 lead. GAS III had some promising chances to get on the scoresheet but couldn’t capitalize. Just before halftime, Bukit Timah extended their lead to 0:4.
After the break, the game grew more intense. GAS 3 fought back with determination, scoring to make it 1:4 and shortly after 2:4. Bukit Timah responded by repeatedly delaying the game—players took off their shin guards several times, deliberately slowing the pace and disrupting GAS III’s momentum. Unfortunately, fair play seemed to take a back seat during this phase. Nonetheless, Bukit Timah managed to score again just before the second water break, making it 2:5.
But GAS III wasn’t done yet. After the break, they regained focus and launched a sensational comeback, scoring three quick goals to level the match at 5:5. The game hung in the balance. A defensive error then allowed Bukit Timah to reclaim the lead at 5:6. Yet GAS III showed great spirit, equalizing once more to 6:6 with just four minutes left on the clock.
In the very last second of the game, GAS 3 had the winning goal at their feet but narrowly missed the target.
The match ended in a dramatic 6:6 draw. Despite questionable time-wasting tactics from the opponent, GAS 3 displayed character, fighting spirit, and impressive football.
