The first test match of the new season gave German Allstars Singapore a first opportunity to get back on the pitch and build momentum for the season ahead. Despite the intense heat at GESS, GAS put in a strong performance and came away with a deserved 2–1 victory against Vikings Football Club.

The match started evenly, with both teams looking to find their rhythm. GAS gradually grew into the game and created several promising opportunities. One of the closest moments came after a corner, when Noah Wölfle met the ball with a direct effort that appeared to have a chance of crossing the line. After a brief moment of uncertainty, the goal was not given and the game continued at 0–0.

The extreme heat made the conditions challenging for both sides, leading to several changes throughout the first half. Nevertheless, GAS remained well organised and continued to create chances, while keeping the Vikings from developing much going forward. Neither side managed to break the deadlock before the break, sending the teams into halftime at 0–0.

After the restart, the Vikings took the lead in the 54th minute from the penalty spot after an unnecessary mistake from GAS. Rather than allowing the setback to disrupt their performance, German Allstars responded positively and continued to push forward.

The pressure eventually paid off in the 69th minute. After good work around the edge of the box, Markus Almeroth reacted quickest and finished calmly into the bottom left corner, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way and bringing GAS level at 1–1.

With plenty of chances continuing to come their way, GAS looked increasingly likely to find a second goal. In the 81st minute, that pressure was finally rewarded. Following a rebound inside the box, Nils Hesmer kept his composure and finished with his left foot to complete the comeback and put GAS 2–1 ahead, despite playing through a finger injury.

The final stages were managed well by German Allstars, who held on to their lead and secured a positive result in their first test of the new season. With plenty of players getting minutes and the team creating numerous chances despite the difficult conditions, there were several encouraging signs to take from the match.

A strong start to the season and a useful first test for German Allstars Singapore. The focus now turns to the next matches and continuing to build towards the competitive season.
