The final league match of the season offered one last chance to finish on a high but instead left GAS Social wondering how a solid performance could end in a 2–4 defeat.

Played under intense heat at GESS, the game started evenly. Both sides matched each other throughout the first half, with possession and chances balanced. GAS looked composed and well-structured, but without fully taking control.
The breakthrough came from a more or less well-rehearsed set-piece routine. Philipp Schmidt delivered the free kick into Niklas Löffelhardt, who laid it off for Nils Hesmer, who finished ice-cold from close range to give GAS a 1–0 lead.
The lead didn’t last long. Hibs capitalised on small gaps and managed to equalise before halftime, making it 1–1.
After the halftime break, GAS came out noticeably stronger. The team increased the pressure, looked more dangerous going forward, and began to take control. The second goal was a moment of quality: Oliver Gary delivered a beautifully weighted cross, which Nils Hesmer converted with an excellent finish to bring the score to 2–1.

With momentum clearly on their side, GAS Social looked set to take the lead. It felt like only a matter of time before the game would turn in our favour and move towards a deserved 3–1. The key moment came when another clear opportunity for Nils Hesmer ended with the ball hitting the post instead of the back of the net. It was a great effort and the kind of chance that deserved a goal, but unfortunately it wasn’t rewarded.
From that point on, the game gradually slipped away. Hibs regained control and, within a short spell, turned the game around, punishing small mistakes making full use of their pace up front and well-executed counterattacks. The sudden shift sealed the 2–4 result, leaving GAS frustrated after a match that had looked very different, especially in the early stages of the second half.

A disappointing way to close the successful league campaign. Still, there were strong phases, particularly after halftime, that showed what the team is capable of.

Now all focus shifts to the League Cup final. One last chance to finish the season on a high and give it the ending it deserves.
