GAS Social vs Singapore Vikings Legends

Christian Frank23 Jun - 08:23

Mandatory Shooting Practice needed for all GAS Players !!!

A game that truly lived up to the motto: If you don’t score up front, you’ll get scored on in the back.
Well, no one really knows exactly why GAS Social let this game slip away and Viking Legends ended up leaving the field as the winner after all what we saw during the 90 minutes at the GESS Stadium.

At first, it seemed as though the game wasn’t going to happen at all, since the referee must have gotten lost in the vast expanses of Singapore—but he did show up after all, about 10 minutes late, but at least he made it.

GAS social controlled the game from the start and established overwhelming dominance in the opponent’s penalty area, but the ball just wouldn’t go in the net.
The occasional counterattacks by the somewhat aging Vikings were successfully stopped by a stable defense.
Shortly before the end of the first half, the Northern Irish loanee—who goes by the melodious name of James—scored the long-overdue 1-0 goal for GAS Social.
The teams went into halftime with a one-goal lead.

As the second half started, the same pattern emerged as in the first half.
GAS social dominated the game, and our squad created some very impressive scoring opportunities.
When our James made it 2–0 in the 47th minute, some people were already thinking that it was going to be a goal fest.
However, the old soccer saying turned out to be true—if you don’t score up front, you’ll concede at the back…

It all began when Kris Kothen, considered by some experts to be one of the top three outside-of-the-foot specialists (Aussenristkleben) in German soccer history (When will this man finally get a portrait in the DFB Museum?) —right behind Mats Hummels and the Kaiser Beckenbauer himself—left the field…

Vikings scored three goals, one of which was the kind where you think, “Take him, I’ve got him covered (nimm du ihn, ich hab ihn sicher) another was an unfortunate own goal, and the third was a preventable long-range shot.
Suddenly, the scoreboard read 2–3, and no one knew why.
To make matters worse, bad luck struck when our forwards failed to convert goals that seemed certain at the very last second. (Haste kein Glück, kommt auch noch Pech hinzu)

There are still two games left this season, one of which will be the League Cup final—which will be the best opportunity to show that the loss to the Vikings was a one time accident that will be quickly turned around and, hopefully, rewarded with the League Cup title.
