GAS Social began their maiden Championship season in style, grinding out a 2–1 victory over Big Poppas in a tense and entertaining opener.

The breakthrough came midway through the first half. A quick throw-in down the right caught the opposition off guard, with Khan reacting quickest to square the ball to Jens, who timed his run perfectly from central midfield, going one-on-one before calmly slotting it past to open the scoring.

Not long after, GAS doubled their advantage. A misplaced clearance from the Big Poppas goalkeeper landed at the feet of David on the edge of the box. Without hesitation, he unleashed a powerful long-range strike that sailed past the stranded keeper and retreating defenders — a thunderous finish to make it 2–0 at half-time.

After the restart, however, the momentum swung dramatically. Big Poppas came out with renewed energy, playing dangerous attacking football and putting GAS under sustained pressure. Their breakthrough arrived shortly after the water break, when their star man raced in behind the defence and finished coolly into the bottom corner to make it 2–1.

With confidence surging, Big Poppas continued to test the GAS backline. A critical moment came when Christian produced a stunning save to deny a powerful long-range strike that looked destined for the top corner.

The final minutes were nervy, with Big Poppas pushing for the equaliser. However on the break, Marcello threaded a fantastic through ball for Markus, who raced clear on goal. The Big Poppas keeper rushed out but mistimed his challenge completely, denial of clear goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO). The referee had no hesitation in showing a straight red card, leaving the opposition down to 10 men and sealing their fate.

It was a resilient and disciplined display from GAS Social to secure all three points in their Championship debut.
