The newly formed GAS Social team – born from the summer 2025 merger of the club’s Zweite and Dritte squads – made their debut in style. Our first friendly against TM Legends was less about points and more about finding our rhythm, testing the squad depth, and gauging which league and division we might join for the upcoming season.
Thankfully, the Singapore weather gods were in a good mood. A cloudy afternoon kept the worst of the sun at bay – perfect conditions for 90 minutes of football (plus the essential hydration breaks).

The Match
We came out firing. In the first 20 minutes, GAS Social set the tone with composed possession, sharp passing, and a solid defensive shape. By the first water break, we were already 3–0 up thanks to goals from Markus, Mauro, and David.
After that, the rotation carousel began – every player got at least 40 minutes on the pitch. While the constant changes gave everyone a chance to shine, it did slightly disrupt our control and fluency. Still, the fighting spirit never dropped, and we continued to create chances through calm build-up play, clever switches of play, and the occasional well-timed long ball into space.
The Legends did get back into the game with two goals:
• A debatable but clever penalty coolly converted by their striker “Crouchy” to make it 3–1.
• A cheap one on our part – a sloppy back-line pass gifted them their second.
In between and after those, we struck back. Chris S. added a fourth, and David bagged his second of the match to put the game beyond doubt.

Final Whistle Verdict:
A promising debut for GAS Social. Plenty of positives, a few things to work on, and a great afternoon of football against a fair and sporting opponent. This match gave us valuable insight into our squad’s depth and style – and perhaps a hint that we’ll be competitive in whichever division we choose next season.
