GAS 3 was dominant in every aspect of the game, but the home side opened the scoring after seven minutes against the run of play when a long ball caught the GAS 3’s defence off guard through lack of communication between Sven Israel and Fabian Kubitza. They intended to follow the motto: “Nimm du ihn, ich hab ihn sicher!”
However, the midfielders Florian Prinz, Sven Israel and Jens Martin kept the game under control and only three minutes later, Christopher Schwarz took the opportunity to equalise.
Several players were a bit wasteful with their shots in the first half, each curling effort almost a carbon copy of the previous one, all drifting wide of the far post or saved by the AC United goalkeeper.
However, Desmond Ang put GAS 3 back in front when he cut in from the right and sent an unstoppable strike into the far corner.
GAS 3 was nearly made to pay on the stroke of half-time but goalkeeper Rudi (“Der Titan”) Winklhofer saved with his body after a long ball through the defence of GAS 3.
GAS 3 made several changes in the halftime and they kept controlling the game.
AC United were sitting dangerously deep, inviting GAS 3 to score more goals. Unfortunately, Steffen Hessel and co. had great finishes, but the AC United goalkeeper had an outstanding day.
Suddenly, AC United was very close equalise, but goalkeeper Rudi (“Der Titan”) Winklhofer saved with his legs and the result remained 2:1 for GAS 3.
Any hopes AC United had of mounting a recovery were dented when Desmond Ang scored his second goal in the game.
And there could be only a little doubt GAS 3 deserved their victory after dominating a one-sided affair in which they initially struggled to make the breakthrough because of profligate finishing.
Although the team of manager Christian Frank had the opportunities to score more goals, the final result of 3:1 keeps GAS 3 close to the league leaders Kamikaze and Pacey Blinders.
