We managed to select a strong team of 16 players and made some minor changes to our formation. We also introduced a highly sophisticated, AI powered substitution scheme, which appeared to challenge some of our players ? (there is certainly room for improvement next week). Our opponents also fielded a strong team with 2-3 young(er) and very quick former COSMO players. As in the previous friendly game against OGS, we dominated the opening 15-20 minutes. However, unlike in previous games we managed to convert our early advantage into two very well taken goals. Kris K. was on hand on both occasions, the second after a free kick and a lovely delivery by Talant. Sadly, we did not manage to hold on to our lead for too long. CBD Rangers managed to reduce the deficit just a few minutes later, following a misunderstanding in the GSOS defence. Unfortunately, this error was only the beginning of a series of individual mistakes, which allowed CBD to score four more goals until the end of the first half. 2:5 at the break was clearly disappointing and didn’t appear to be a fair reflection of our overall performance. Despite us losing some players due to minor injuries during the interval, the second half turned out to be a much closer affair. Both teams continued to create chances but didn’t manage add to the score line. After 80 minutes, a total of seven goals and one red card against GSOS, the referee sealed our 3rd consecutive loss. Despite another negative result, we can build on this much improved performance and hopefully deliver a better outcoming this coming Friday at 7pm against the Pirates. Finally, a big “thank you” to Madse, Oesi, Maurizio and Ryo’s son for their unwavering support.
