A good crowd turned up to watch this enticing encounter between two quality sides, thanks to Phil's BBQ for his son Thabo (congrats mate) and some of our Cosmo stars in good mood after their earlier victory. GSOS knew we had a job on hand as Hibs had a fantastic start to the season and are even looking to build a 2nd Super-Vets Team for next season.
It all started well with Knipser scoring his 4th goal of the campaign within the first 10 minutes. However, we couldn't build on it as Hibs got the better of us in midfield, setting up 3 goals in a row. GSOS with a lifeline just before halftime thanks to Alp.
It stayed tight for a good while in the 2nd half before an eventful last 15 minutes where Hibs killed us twice but we could only get up from the dead one time with a nice finish by Alp (his 3rd goal of the campaign).
All in all we have to admit that Hibs were the better side on the day, dominating midfield play and having a good striker partnership with Rob and Esad who were responsible for 3 of their 5 goal tally. Congrats to the Hibs but well done to GSOS for a decent play and a never give-up attitude.
