On a cloudy but warm Sunday afternoon, we were guests of the Vikins in East Singapore Changi region. The pitch was good and everyone was highly motivated to win the game.
GAS II played well from the start and adapted to the opponents' pressing. We were in control of the game. Unfortunately, we fell behind after less than 10 minutes of play due to a good counterattack by the home team.
A short time later we scored with a good long shot to make the score 1:1, which also accompanied us into the break and half-time.
Halftime
After half-time we increased the pressure and were rewarded with a double strike. First, our strikers ran at high speed towards the goal and finished. Straight afterwards the goalkeeper jumped into one of ours so we had a penalty kick, which also led to a goal. Consequently, we went into the second half drinking break with a 1:3 lead.
The drinking break took us out of our rhythm, which is why it was easy for the Vikins to increase the pressure on us. Everything went well until the 80th minute, but then the score was 2:3. This goal naturally brought even more momentum for the hosts, which we could not withstand. Thus, in the 88th minute, the score was 3:3, which was also the final score of the match.
It felt like a defeat, yet we can be proud because we showed a really good game. With a bit more consistency towards the end of the game, we could have rewarded ourselves with a win.
Cheers,
